St Thomas' Parish Church has had a robed choir since 1943. Since then, the Choir has been involved in many enterprising musical events. The Church is fortunate to have a magnificent pipe organ by William Hill and Sons, which was completely restored and re-dedicated in 1999. Choir practices are held in the church on Wednesday evenings from 7.45 pm until 9.15 pm except during the summer months. On Sundays the Choir attends the services at 10.30 am and 7.00 pm. The Church has a library of choral music covering early to modern composers. The hymns, canticles, psalms and Holy Communion Services are sung to achieve a blend of the traditional and contemporary styles of choral worship. In the latter connection, the Music Group with guitar/string accompaniment is encouraged to contribute, especially at the monthly Family Service. Special choral music has also been the tradition for Easter Services and Christmas Carol Services. New members would be warmly welcomed into all four sections of the Choir.

THE MUSIC GROUPThe Music Group often plays at the Family Service on the first Sunday of each month. We play and sing with the organist and choir. Instrumentalists or singers of any age are warmly invited to join, even if you cannot commit on a regular basis. We practise with the church choir from 7.45 to 8.15 on the Wednesday evening prior to the Family Service. If you sing or play a musical instrument, and are interested in participating, please contact the
