THE
CHOIR
St Thomas' Parish
Church has had a robed choir since 1943. Since then, the Choir has been
involved in many enterprising musical events.
The Church is
fortunate to have a magnificent pipe organ by William Hill and Sons, which
was completely restored and re-dedicated in 1999.
Choir practices are
held in the church on Wednesday evenings from 7.45 pm until 9.15 pm except
during the summer months. On Sundays the Choir attends the services
at 10.30 am and 7.00 pm. The Church has a library of choral music
covering early to modern composers. The hymns, canticles, psalms and
Holy Communion Services are sung to achieve a blend of the traditional and
contemporary styles of choral worship. Special choral music has
also been the tradition for Easter Services and Christmas Carol
Services.
New
members would be warmly welcomed into all four sections of the Choir.
