St Thomas' Parish, in South Belfast, Northern Ireland, is part of the Church of Ireland, which is a member Church of the world-wide Anglican Communion.
St Thomas' Church is located beside the Rectory at the end of Eglantine Avenue near the Lisburn Road, one of Belfast's main arterial routes. The Parish extends from Elmwood Avenue to Adelaide Park, and from the Malone Road to the Lisburn Road. Find us on this map. Here is how to contact the Rector.
MEMBERS AND VISITORS: Church members live both inside and outside the parish area: many in Stranmillis, Finaghy, Upper Malone, Dunmurry, Knockbreda, Lambeg and Bangor. Membership of our congregation includes people from many different countries, including Sweden, Israel, Yugoslavia, Rumania, Russia, Ukraine, Eritrea, South Africa, Lebanon, France, Egypt and the USA. Being located in the hotel and guest house area of the city and being near Queen's University, the City Hospital and major schools, we have many international visitors at Church Services.
| OUR
MISSION: We are committed to be a beacon for God in the City – through our witness, openness and friendliness to all. We welcome, and include everyone, in our worship, prayer and activities. We seek to reflect God’s love for all people and all creation. We seek to serve God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, in prayer, worship and lifestyle. If you live in Belfast, or are visiting the city, YOU WILL BE VERY WELCOME in our Church. |
Willkommen! Failte! Benvenuto! Bienvenue! Välkommen! Welkom! Dobro pozhalovat'! Bula vinaka! Aloha! Bienvenido! Marhaban! Baruch haba! Yo koso! Huan yin! Welcome!
Church and Rectory: The Church and Rectory were built side by side on what was known as 'the Malone Ridge' in 1870. Both buildings are fine examples of Victorian design and workmanship. The Church is one of the finest examples of High Victorian Gothic architecture in Ulster. Many visitors comment on the beauty of the Church enhancing the worship of God. We want to share this beautiful heritage with others.
